For those with significant or total hair loss we recommend you select from a range of different styles in our ready to wear wig section. For something more bespoke our sensitive and skillful stylists are able to re-model and style your wig to your desired style.
For those with thinning hair or specific hair loss in the central region of the scalp we offer a semi permanent solution. A fine mesh weave is attached to your hair with an invisible bond and your own hair is woven into the mesh. Where additional volume or length is required either to create balance or length individual strands can be added to existing hair and to the hair piece to create a stunning and natural look.
Every hairpiece is made from 100% Modacrylic fibre.
Synthetic wigs are lighter, easier to care for and less expensive than human hair wigs.
Monofilament refers to the type of material that hair strands are sewn onto. Cloth material can be itchy to those with sensitive scalps. On the other hand monofilament material is a thin gauze-like, nearly transparent material which is a softer and almost undetectable to the human eye. Furthermore hair strands are hand-sewn to the monofilament material, one strand at a time, which is where the term "mono-filament" comes from.
The curl is baked into synthetic fibre, which means it retains its shape. You can finger, comb or, in some cases and only certain styles, brush the product and you will not lose the curl. We recommend only fingering and combing for hairpieces or very curly wigs.
Each wig or hairpiece is blended with up to eleven subtle shades, creating a really natural appearance, which is synonymous with quality of the product.
All our wigs are available in average sizes although we do have a selection of petite and large wigs on offer. Please see item description in the catalogue section for details.
Remove the wig from the protective hair net; holding your wig by the front hairline, give it a gently shake to separate the fibres so that it takes its proper shape. By holding onto the front of the wig, slip it over your head and tighten or loosen the tabs until it feels both comfortable and straight.
It is useful to remember that a wig or hairpiece is an accessory, therefore if you intend to wear it daily we recommend that you purchase more than one. Your product will not last forever but, by taking good care using the recommended care products, you should be able to use it for 3 to 6 months. The NHS recommend 2 per year for people who use wigs or hairpieces every day due to health reasons.)
This really depends upon how often it is worn. If it is worn occasionally then once every few weeks will suffice. However, if you wear your wig or hairpiece daily then washing it once per week should be adequate. - It is also best to use the care products recommended as these will assist in protecting your wig/hairpiece and as such maximise its longevity.
Many of our customers cut the tortoise shell combs out to replace them with decorative combs. The tacking threads can easily be cut for the combs to be removed. You will find that once you remove the combs, the piece may be more difficult to secure into place.
You can use any wig spray or water based hair spray, it is better to purchase a wig spray. Excess spray can build up causing a dulling of the fibre. This will wash out when the piece is cleaned.
Use a synthetic wig conditioner. This will add lustre and help bring back life to your dulling fibre. This spray can also be used to achieve the wet look for your styling. More recently a balsam has been introduced which is excellent for restoring shine.
Lightly spray your hairpiece or wig with clear water. This will help eliminate any static electricity and it will also give it a freshened look.
We do not recommend sleeping in your hairpiece or wig. The friction that builds up from rubbing against the pillow case will increase the tangles of the fibre. You could also be injured by the combs on the hairpieces or any hair pins used to secure the wig in place. After removal, pick through any tangles particularly at the nape area, place on a wig stand, or carefully place back in the original box or bag.
Please refrain from using a heat brush or heated rollers as the heat from heat brushes or hot rollers will ruin the synthetic fibre. Please also remember that all forms of heat are bad for this product, so please be careful around cookers or near someone who is smoking.
This is applicable to clients who wear wigs for medical reasons only. Clients that wear wigs due to Alopecia, chemotherapy treatment, or any other medical condition that causes hair loss and is confirmed by a GP, are classed as necessity wearers.
